Dave is reputed to have gone west to Idaho and spent some time prospecting for gold there. Dave is noted in the Meharg Family Bible: "Mr D Meharg came home on the 23 of Nov 1907"; supposedly this is from his time in Idaho. Dave and Minnie had no children.


David E Meharg – A former well-known resident of Tillsonburg, died suddenly at his home in Comber on Thurs June 19th. The remains were brought to Tillsonburg for interment, and the funeral took place on Sunday from the home of his brother in law, Wallace Birdsall, Tillson Ave. Service was conducted by Rev TH Bole, and the pallbearers were 6 brothers: Robert, Charles, Joseph, John, Nicholas and Whitfield Meharg. Mr Meharg is survived by his wife, the former Miss Birdsall.
