MACON - Marvin G. Boland, Jr., 88, passed away on Monday, March 08, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11A.M., Friday, March 12, 2010 in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in the Riverside Cemetery with Military Honors. The Rev. Lee Bennett will officiate. The family will meet friends from 10:00A.M. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Cross Keys United Methodist Church, 1825 Jeffersonville Road, Macon GA 31217. -Mr. Boland, son of the late Marvin Glenn Boland and Marie Hendry Boland, was born in Cochran and had lived in this area most of his life. He was a U. S. Army Veteran serving during World War II with the 3rd Army Rifle Team and was an excellent marksman. Mr. Boland was preceded in death by his wife, Elise Johnson Boland, his eight-year old daughter, Susan Glenn Boland, three sisters, Lucy Beatty, Glenn Wommack and Iris Martin. He was an accountant retired from Georgia Steel Co. and Macon Machine Shop. -Survivors include his daughters, Lynn Hawrylak (Greg) of Littleton, CO and Gay Boland of Kingman, AZ; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Hawrylak, Jennifer Hawrylak and Benjamin Boland (Colette); his companion and best friend for more than thirty years, Evelyn Phelps of Macon; his caregiver, Wenifred Williams and his extended family, Sue Lynn Power of Summerville, GA; Evelyn McCook of Gordon, GA; Larry Callaway of Macon and seven nieces and nephews. -Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery has charge of arrangements.
