Rosemond Iris Boland Martin, 82, formerly of Covington Street, Jackson, GA, died Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Westbury Medical Care Home in Jackson. She was born in Brewton, GA (Laurens County) October 14, 1926 daughter of the late Marvin Glenn Boland, Sr. and Marie Hendry Boland. She was a 1948 graduate of the Macon Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Martin was a retired Registered Nurse at Sylvan Grove Hospital in Jackson with over 20 years of service. She was a member of the Jackson United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Harold Edward Martin , Jr. of Nevada City, CA; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Martin Wells and W. Ronnie Wells of Jenkinsburg, GA and Sallye Martin of Hapeville, GA; beloved granddaughter, Megan Wells McDonald and Sean of Jenkinsburg, GA; brother, Marvin G. Boland of Macon, GA.
Funeral services for Iris Boland Martin will be Tuesday morning, June 16, 2009 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Dr. Ben Wright will officiate. Interment will be in the Jenkinsburg Cemetery.
