Mr. Archie Currie, 81, of Kennard, passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 1, in
the Houston County Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Currie was born in Houston County Jan. 9, 1892, and had lived here for
his entire lifetime. He was a member of the Kennard Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan, 2, at 2 p.m. in the Kennard
Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. Frank Oswald officiating. Interment
was in the Mount Vernon cemetery.
Pallbearers were Phil Foster, Coleman Bruce, Bob Currie, Jim Fox, Charles
M. Currie, Clinton Currie.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Archie Currie of Kennard; one son, Charles
Currie of Dallas; four daughters, Mrs. Lydia Mae Foster of Dallas, Mrs. Amy
Dell Staton of Seagoville, Mrs. Louise Bruce of Grapeland, and Mrs. Linda
Hess of Garland; one brother, Pole Currie of Kennard; one suster, Mrs. Vada
Baker of Kennard; 17 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.

Callaway Funeral Home of Crockett was in charge of arrangements.
