A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2003, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Charles Zeck of First United Pentecostal Church will officiate.
A Memorial Visitation will be from 12 Noon until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Iowa City.
Mrs. Stegall was born on July 22, 1938, in Reedsville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Fenton and Rella Rowe Schaaf. She married Gerald D. Stegall on July 14, 1956, in Muscatine.
Thelma worked at HY-VEE Food Store in the meat department for 27 and one half years, retiring in 1998.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald D. Stegall of Wapello; four sons, Michael R. Schaaf of Waterloo, Randy D. Stegall of Wapello, Timothy E. Stegall and his wife, Jody, of Tipton, and Jerry P. Stegall of Wapello; two daughters, Pamela J. Rodriguez of Iowa City, and Tamara S. Schidler and her husband, David, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; and a special friend, Joyce Villhauer of Muscatine.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one brother.
