CHERRINGTON RITES SLATED FOR MONDAY

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary A. Cherrington, 79, mother of former Walnut Creek Mayor Horace C. Cherrington, will be held at 10 a.m. from the Lafayette Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Mrs. Cherrington whose home was at 1427 Ashby Ave. Berkeley, died Friday in a Rheem hospital.

The wife of the late Charles A. Cherrington, she is survived by the following children: Horace C. Cherrington, now of Pleasant Hill; Mrs. Elsie Brown of Berkeley; Irwin Cherrington of San Francisco; Mrs. Aurtance C. Prestwich of Sacramento; Mrs. Vivian C. Eklund of Martinez and Don Cherrington of Lafayette.

She also leaves a brother, Virgil Penfold of Idaho, 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services are under the direction of Hull's Walnut Creek Chapel.

Horace Cherrington is ill in an intensive care ward of a Walnut Creek Hospital and has not been advised of his mother's death.
