Services for Herbert L. Shipp will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Robert A. Stetler Funeral Chapel with Reverend Thomas Fowler officiating. Burial will be at the Santa Paula Cemetery. Mr. Shipp died Sept. 28 in a Santa Paula Convalescent Hospital following a long illness. He was 72.
Mr. Shipp was born Sept. 9, 1913 in Madison County, Ark. and was a Santa Paula resident for seven years. He worked as a chicken rancher for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Norma, of Santa Paula; daughter, Jean Beck of Lancaster; four stepdaughters, Kathy Brown, Judy Whittaker and Connie Dollahite of Santa Paula and Sherry Wilkinson of Dixon; son, Clark Shipp of Lancaster; three step-sons, Larry Leslie, Micheal Leslie and Jack Poss of Santa Paula; sisters, Aline Spirgen and Kathleen Fowler of La Habra, Robbie Porter of Pomona, Joyce Weible of Converse, Tex.; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
