Conrad Brown Leake, 87 of Sperryville died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. Mr. Leake was born May 30, 1923 in Rappahannock County to the late John Thomas and Lillian Woodward Leake.
Conrad worked for Culpeper Farmers Coop for many, many years as a truck driver and he enjoyed baseball.
Mr. Leake is survived by one daughter, Mildred Faye Racer and her husband, Russell of Front Royal, one son, John Wayne Leake and his wife, Frances of Aroda and a daughter-in-law, Patsy Leake.
He is also survived by four grandchildren, Donna Marie Leake of Harrisonburg, Russell Racer, Jr. and his wife, Amy, Timothy Racer and his wife, Jessica, all of Front Royal and Kevin Racer and his wife, Chrissy of Winchester; three great grandchildren, Michael Racer, Cody Racer and Cohan Racer.
In addition, he is survived two sisters, Lois McFarland and her husband, Willie of Washington and Lilly Corbin of Sperryville.
Mr. Leake was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Pauline Leake and his second wife, Betty Leake, a son, Donald Leake, a brother, Woodson Leake, a sister, Carrie Jenkins and a half sister, Lillian Leake.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 11, 2011 from 6 - 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 2 pm in Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray, VA with the Rev. John Burke officiating.
Pallbearers named are Russell Racer, Jr., Timothy Racer, Kevin Racer, Gary Leake, Mike Leake and Tommy Atkins. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Jenkins and Elmer Wharton.
