FROM A CONTRIBUTOR...STILL RESEARCHING. NEED TO FIND OUT WHERE MY RECORD CAME FROM...UNTIL THEN, KEEP THIS IN MIND I HAVE USED THE RESEARCH OF OTHERS FOR THE FAMILY LINE OF WALKERS. ANCESTRY TREES SHOW JOSIAH ANS MARY AS PARENTS OF LUVICA ANDERSON WALKER.

".'Im writing because I do not believe your Luvica Anderson Walker is Josiah and Mary Anderson's daughter. Josiah and Mary lived in Newberry County, South Carolina, then they moved with his mother and step-father and other family members to Buncombe County, then over into Haywood County NC where they stayed and raised their family. I have done extensive research on them for 51 years. I have run every census record on them and all of their children are accounted for. Your Luvica, who was born in Illinois, is not one of their children. Josiah and Mary are my 3rd great-grandparents. If you have questions please contact me and I'll be happy to try to answer them and perhaps help you find who your Mary does belong to."

Her headstone says "Mrs Luvica Walker, Died March the 16th 1848. in the 36 year of her age."

She was married twice. She married Asa McClendon in 1830 and they had one son, Asa McClendon, Jr. Asa Sr seems to have died about 1831 and Luvica married James Green Walker about 1832 and they had 4 children.

ANOTHER RECORD: FROM CAROL LILJA

Elizabeth Jane Walker was the daughter of James Green Walker (born 30 Sep 1811, a doctor and Methodist preacher) and Luvica (Anderson) McClendon. Luvica Anderson, born 22 Dec 1811, married her first husband, Asa, in Crawford Co, MO, 30 March 1830. They had a son, Asa, born 19 Dec 1830. I don't know anything about what happened to Luvica's first husband but on 23 July 1832 she married James G. Walker in Crawford Co, MO. They had children, William Henry Walker, born 11 Sep 1833, Elizabeth Jane-12 Sep 1835, Charles L.-23 March 1838, Arthur Hillary-13 Jan 1840, John Everett-10 Sep 1841, Jacob S.- 9 Jan 1844, James P.-23 Nov 1844, and Blake W.-5 Feb 1847. Luvica (pronounced Louisa-it was Swedish) died 16 March 1848 and Blake died just after her on 20 March 1848. I just recently located her grave on a trip to Arkansas and just two weeks ago went back and gently cleaned the stone. Most of the family seemed to think she died in Missouri but I found her grave among some other relatives at Bethesda Cemetery in Washington County, AR.

After Luvica died, James G. Walker married Tempy (Leach) Morrow, a widow, with a son George Thomas Morrow, b. 4 Aug 1844. They married 31 May 1848 in Washington Co, AR. They had children, Semantha Ann "Martha" "Annie"-25 June 1849, Levi Reese-7 Oct 1851, Dick Leach-28 April 18 1854 (my great grandfather), Evan Jones-4 Dec 1856, Netta Demarville-1 Aug 1858 and Lovely Davis (yes, that's really his name) 10 April 1861. Later, Lovely went by Lovey.
