Charles Sherrod Love,88, died after a lengthy illness on Friday, January 02, 1998 in Dallas, Texas. He and his wife ,Louise Miller Love, lived in Columbus for many years before they moved to Slidell, Louisiana. They celebrated their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary in Columbus in 1983 and she predeceased him in1986. In recent years he lived in Dallas near his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Love was a descendant of several pioneer Lowndes County, Mississippi and Pickens County, Alabama families. He was a member of the Dallas Chapter of the National Society Sons of the American Revolution. He was descended from eight soldiers of the American Revolution .
Mr. Love was the son of Robert Montgomery Love and his wife Lula Irene Duncan and the grandson of John Jefferson Love and his wife, Martha Ann Margaret Ellis and William Jasper Duncan and his wife Sarah Adeline Pittman. The great-grandson of Benjamin Love and his wife Martha Neely; Noah B. Ellis and his wife, Martha Stratton; William Lyles Duncan and his wife, Frances Brock; John Harkey Pittman and his wife Amanda Arena Mayfield.

He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Love Stephens and Mary Love Pruner, both of Dallas, Texas; three granddaughters, Sutton Stephens Hamlin, Heather Love Stephens and Jennifer Calder King also of Dallas, Texas and one grandson, Gregory Calder of Austin, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Winborne and Parker Hamblin. He is also survived by a sister, Annie Wood Sanford and sister-in-law, Ruth Greene, both of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home,716 2nd Avenue North, on Saturday, January 10 at 2:00 p.m. Services will be at 3:00 p.m. followed by burial at Friendship Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 2698 Ridge Road, Columbus, MS 39701 or to the National Society of Children of the American Revolution. P. O.
