Homer Herman Helmich, 84, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, July 6, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born September 24, 1918 in St. Charles, MO, to Herman and Olinde Helmich, who preceded him in death.

He was married July 13, 1940, to Vera Wilzene of Jefferson City, MO, she survives at the home.

He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann, MO.

He graduated from Normandy High School in 1935, he attended Westminster College, in Fulton, MO.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Hermann Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his wife: Vera Helmich, of the home; three daughters: Shirley Ann & husband, James Strubberg, Linn, MO, Charlotte Ruth & husband, Robert Ward, Raytown, MO, Cheryl Lynn & husband, Thomas Ketteman, Wildwood, MO; one brother: Hartland Helmich, Doylestown, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 8, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann, MO. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at the St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann, MO, with the Rev. James Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in the Hermann Cemetery, Hermann, MO. Memorials are suggested to the Evangelical Childrens Home, St. Louis, MO.
