Donna Elizabeth Latham Smith, age 74, died September 28, 1996, West Jordan, Utah.
She was born February 10, 1922 in Magna, Utah, to George and Edna Harkness Latham. Married Deel F. Tomlin; later divorced. Married Carvell George Smith, February 24 ,1943 in Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Donna enjoyed traveling with her sweetheart. Together they spent many choice times and memorable moments making good friends. She was a good mom. She had a heart of gold and a tender touch with her houseful of boys. Her only daughter brought sparkles to her eyes. She loved to be surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She learned to love fishing and camping with her family. She enjoyed crocheting special treasures for those she loved.
She was survived by her husband; eight children, Mark (Jean), Cottonwood; Dale (Judy), West Valley; Wayne (Nancy), Taylorsville; Lynn (Gerrie), Taylorsville; Kelly (Heidi), West Jordan; Ted (Tanya), West Jordan; Eldon (Kris), Taylorsville; daughter, Becky (Steve) Tidwell, West Point; 25 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; stepmother, Grace Harkness Latham; brothers, Bill (Jennie), Magna; Ron (Hope), West Valley City; sisters, Doris Christofferson, Sally (Reed) Rassmusson and Edna (Ross) Weyland, all of Magna. Preceded in death by her parents, brother, Glenn and great-grandson, Bryse.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the Bennion 2nd Ward, 6100 South Kamas Drive (2480 West). Friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Wednesday at church 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Centerville City Cemetery.
