Obituary -- February 17, 1939
"Mrs. Sylvia Fritz, 59, died at 5 o'clock at her home 339 W. 3rd St. after a 10 day illness. She had been in failing health several years. She was a diabetic. She didn't believe in doctors and wouldn't be treated. When gangrene set in she lost her toes first. It went through her whole body. Sylvia Knapp was born ApriI 15, 1879 in Michigan. On March 28, 1900 she and C.W. Fritz were married in Hartville, Mo. She came to Fremont from Sargent, Nebraska. 14 years ago. She was a member of the Pentecostal church.

She is survived by her husband and 14 children. Mrs. Carrie Barton, Mrs. Carl Max, Mrs. Ed Garrison, and Mrs. Hugo Holmberg, all of Fremont. Mrs. Cark Hanna of Sterling, Co.; Mrs. Paul Sharpe of Lodge Grass, Mt., James Fritz of Merna, Nebraska and Milton, Walter, Robert, John, Carl and Burt of Fremont. Four children preceded her in death. Also surviving are a brother, Roy Flood of Duluth, Minnesota and a sister, Mrs. George Losen of Heitt, Minnesota. The body was taken to Fred Bader Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements will be made later. The Fritz family believe that grandma Sylvia Knapp was an Ogallala Sioux Indian and that all of the Murry children were born on an Indian reservation at Sioux City, Iowa. Burial was in Ridge Cemetery, Fremont, Nebraska."
