Hermann was the 3rd child born to Johann Peter & Maria Katharina Backius Dircks. He was born in Germany. He married Anna Katharina Zweber, daughter of Valentine & Anna Eischens Zweber. Hermann and Anna had 10 children, a few dying at birth. When Hermann died, Anna remarried a few years later to Peter Roehl. They are all buried at St. Nicholas Cem. in New Market, MN., as are Hermann's parents and several brothers. Hermann's siblings are William, Mary Jost, Theodore (my GGpa) Jacob and Henry. Three of Hermann's sisters died young, those being Katherine, Bertha and an infant.
