Son of Ephraim & Sally Soule.

He was a miller in Massachusetts but was a farmer after he came to Iowa.

He married Mary Corell on 13 Apr 1856 in Delaware County, Iowa.
Lemuel Colburn Soule and Mary Soule (born Correll). Lemuel was born on March 28 1812, in Dover, Norfolk, Massachusetts, United States.

Taken from a book Jim Kleparek wrote about the "Dodds" Family:
Mary, Nathan's mother, was 47 years old on the 1860 census. In 1856, Mary married for the 3rd time Lemuel C. Soule resident of Elk township. Mr. Lemuel C. Soule had a daughter Carrie age 4 when they got married and Mary's daughter Emily Morgan was age 9 at the time. They had a son Frank Soule together. Mary was 48 years old in 1861 when she had her son Frank. Other family rumors have it that in 1860 her daughter Emily was raped by her step dad and the child might be her daughter Emily's. Emily at that time would of been 14 years old in 1861 which makes more since.
