Garland Jasperson of Metzger, Oregon, died January 19, 2001 at
the age of 89. His cause of death was lung cancer.

Mr. Jasperson was born Feb. 2, 1911 in Superior, Nebraska.

In 1947 he married Inez Beck in Chester, Nebraska. They
moved to Oregon in 1951 and have lived in Metzger since 1954.
He retired in 1976 from Cascade Corp. as a material
handler,

Survivors include his wife of 53 1/2 years, Inez Jasperson;
children Carla Albertson of Tualatin, Becky Griffith of
Roseville, Calif., Garland Jasperson Jr. of Portland, and
Garth Jasperson of Aloha; grandchildren, Gwen Wilder, Lisa
Miller, Amy Magee, Jon Wilder, Tina Albertson, Tracy Martinez
and Jens, Taylor, Levi and Logan Jasperson; four
great-grandhildren; brother, "Red" Harland of Denver;
sisters, Dorothy Joy of York, Neb., and Mary Slocum of
Geneva, Neb.; plus several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life was held Sunday at his home. Inurnment
is at Skyline Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Providence Cancer
Center.
