Ophelia was married to Milton Harmon Maltby, Abt.1856.After their marriage he was in the Civil War.After he was discharged with disabilty,He and Ophelia had two sons and one daughter. Her children were Eugene Abbott Maltby, Winfred Charles Maltby , and Lelia Rebecca Maltby.
Ophelia became very ill and had to hire a housekeeper to help with the house and the children.She died at age 40 years 3 months.After her death 2 of the children, Winfred and Lelia moved with their father to Goff,Kansas.And one boy Eugene stayed with her parents.Later the girl Lelia moved back to New York.
Milton remarried in Abt.1879-1880 and went to Goff,Kansas,which he had six more children.
