Mr. Lowell, who has been in such poor health for some time, passed away from worldly cures Sunday morning at 6:30. He had been a resident of this place some 27 years, was 75 years of age and leaves a wife and several brothers and sisters to mourn his loss. Funeral services at the M. E. church Monday at two p.m.

The death of Mr. Miles Lowell of Dansville, occurred last Sunday morning about 7 o'clock following a short illness. Mr. Lowell was one of the early pioneers of White Oak. He owned and cleared the farm now owned by J. A. Sly of this place; he was one of the first to help support the gospel in the Cady district; he has been a member of the M.E. church for a good number of years, and died in the triumph of living faith. Mr. Lowell has through his honest labors and good management accumulated a good fortune to leave to his many friends, as they have no children. He leaves a wife and many sympathizing friends to mourn his loss.
Miles Lowell left a will, online at Ancestry. It identifies four siblings Royal Lowell, Julius Lowell, Lucy Hicks and Sarah Lowell.
Miles and Emily did not have any children but there are three children found in the census records with them.
