Maj. Todd N. Humble

A funeral service will be held Wednesday for Maj. Todd N. Humble, Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash., formerly of Grove City. He died of natural causes Monday (10-9-06) in Charleston, S.C. He was 39.

Maj. Humble was born Aug. 13, 1967, in Grove City to Gale L. and Nancy A. Mitchell Humble.

Todd was a graduate of Grove City High School, class of 1985. He received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1990 and a master’s degree in computer resource management from Webster University in 1999.

He began his military career during his junior year at Penn State, where he enrolled in the ROTC program. In January 1992, he completed pilot training from Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, where he was certified on the C-141 and later became certified on the C-17 at Charleston Air Force Base, S.C. He was an instructor and aircraft commander of pilot training for both aircrafts.

He was an active reservist with the Air Force and a pilot with Delta Airlines Inc.

His wife, Gina Candella, whom he married Aug. 8, 1992, survives at home.

Also surviving are two children, Jacob, 8, and Rachel, 3, both at home in Spokane, Wash.; his parents, Gale and Nancy Humble, Grove City; and a sister, Jill Schwartz and her husband Mitchell, Medford, N.J.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 59 N. Crescent Drive, Hermitage 16148.
