Wilbur F. Diem, 20, Stricken At Home Near Kiel
Kiel – (Special) – Wilbur F. Diem, 20, son of Henry and Martha Diem, died at the farm home one mile east of School Hill, Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock. He had been ill a year and had been confined to a hospital in Sheboygan for three months and at Rochester, Minn., for four weeks.
He was born Feb. 9, 1920 at the farm near School Hill, and was graduated from Kiel High school in 1939 with high honors. Survivors are his parents, one brother, Raymond, a sister, Delores, at home, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Diem, Sr., town Meeme, and Fred Guetschow, Sheboygan.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Meiselwitz funeral home and at 2 o'clock at Zion Lutheran church, the Rev. Harold O. Gunwald officiating, with burial in Rockville cemetery. The body can be seen at the funeral home from Tuesday noon on. The casket will not be opened in the church. - 1940
