Audrey F. Gregory age 89 of Homosassa, FL died on Wednesday July 15, 2009, at the Hospice House of Citrus County in Lecanto, FL. Born February 18, 1920, in Sydney, OH, to Otto and Carrie (Leidigh) Fisher. She came here 27 years ago from Binghamton, N.Y. She was a Homemaker and was a member of the First United Methodist of Homosassa. She was a member of the Citrus County Audubon Society, she enjoyed art (painting) and her feline companion Frazzle. In 1943 she and her husband, father and uncle took an scientific expedition of the eruption of the Paricutin Volcano in Mexico. Her husband Gerald Gregory preceded her in death October 28, 2005.
She is survived by her 3 sons; Nelson F. Gregory (Shera) of Richmond, VA, Dwight D. Gregory (Rachel) of Concord, NC and Robert J. Gregory (Cinda) of Sherburne, N.Y. 1 daughter; Jane Marie Stansbury (William) of Forrest, VA. 2 sisters; Evelyn and Justine Fisher both of Detroit, MI, 9 Grandchildren Jason, Michael, Dawn, Sarah, Jamie, April, Jeremy, Lindsey and Hillary, and one Great Grand daughter Sydney.
A Memorial service will be conducted on Friday, July 17, 2009, at 2:00 PM from the 1st United Methodist Church (Chapel) of Homosassa, FL with Rev Mark Whitaker officiating. Private Cremation arrangements under the direction of the Strickland Funeral Home with Crematory Crystal River, FL.
