Laura Eleanor was the daughter of John Phillip and Malinda M. (McPeak) Bates. She married Albert Perry "AB" Crigler on Dec 22, 1878 in Sonoma County, California, they had three chldren, William Edward (1880), Della B (1884) and George H (1887). Her husband, a Constable for Cloverdale, Sonona County, California, was killed in the line of duty. Laura married John Thomas Dixon Nov 11, 1896; they had one son John Orton Dixon (Jun 1898).
