E. H. Buchanan, 93, Dies; Rites At Siloam Church

Elbert H. Buchanan, 93, died Monday, November 27, 1967 in a local hospital.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in Siloam Baptist Church at
Gansville with the Rev. Cecil R. Taylor officiating, assisted by Rev. C. C.
Martin, Rev. W. A. Wimbs, and Rev. Dearmon. Burial was in the church cemetery
under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

He was a native of Bienville Parish, a retired farmer, and a member of the
Siloam Baptist Church.

Survivors are five sons, E. J. Buchanan and R. L. Buchanan, both of Winnfield;
Eugene Buchanan of Olla, A. L. Buchanan of Joyce, and Odie Buchanan of
Chalmette; six daughters, Mrs. Susie Williams and Mrs. Jae Jones, both of
Winnfield, Mrs. Seleta Williams of Dry Prong, Mrs. Pearl Laster of Vivian,
Mrs. Viola Jones of Colfax, and Mrs. Edna Burton of Vicksburg, Miss.; two
brothers, William Buchanan of Texas and R. M. Buchanan of Pineville; five
sisters, Mrs. Sudie Franklin of Dubach, Mrs. Sadie Moreland of California,
Mrs. Josie Holsomback and Mrs. Dorothy Tims, both of Jonesboro, and Mrs. Pal
Wright of Lake Providence; 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and two
great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were W. D. Richards, James Arnold Buchanan, Robert Buchanan,
Melvin Williams, Charles "Jake" Williams, Jerry Jones.
