Mrs. Peachie Shackelton, 69, lifetime district residentdied at 12.30 o'clock this afternoon at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Esther St. John in Kansas City. Mrs. Shackelton had been a patient at Mt. Carmel hospital for several weeks and had been taken to the daughter's home from the hospital only yesterday. Mrs. Shackelton's husband, John Wesley Shackelton, died eleven days ago at Mt. Carmel hospital. Born at Walnut in 1883, Mrs. Shackelton had lived in this district her entire life. She moved to Pittsburg about 1927. A membership was held in the First Baptist church. Surviving in addition to the daughter, are one son, Oscar Shackelton, 1016 West Euclid; five granchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Effie Inman, Chico, Calif., , and Mrs. Laura Shupe, Pratt. The body will be brought to the Ward-Bobbitt funeral home here tonight. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
