Madeline Mullen Flowers, 90, of Fayetteville, N.C., formerly of Chester County and wife of the late William P. Flowers Sr., died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010.
Born July 22, 1919, she was the daughter of the late William Mullen Sr. and Goldie Mae Washington Mullen.
Ms. Madeline was a member of Mt. Raymond UAME Church in Downingtown, where she sang on the choir in her younger years.
Surviving to cherish her memory are four daughters, Madelyn Stokes of Fayetteville, N.C., Grace Elizabeth Delaware of Fayetteville, N.C., Carol Westmoreland, wife of Willie of Wagontown, and Dorothy Kelly of Coatesville; two sons, Thomas Flowers and Harry Flowers Sr., both of Coatesville; three grandchildren she raised, Stanley Cropper Jr. of Fayetteville, N.C., Dina Holmes of Coatesville and Clayton Flowers of West Chester; 16 other grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Elsie King of Ardmore; and a brother, Harry Mullen of Alabama.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, at the DeBaptiste Funeral Homes Inc., Worthington and Miner streets, West Chester.
A viewing will be held Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer.
