Borger News Herald - February 14, 1988

Ralph Dobkins, 1013 Jackson, Borger, died Feb. 12.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains.

Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park with Dr. Strauss Atkinson, minister of the First Baptist Church of Dalhart, presiding.

Arrangements are being made by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, Amarillo, with local arrangements by Ed Brown and Sons Funeral Directors of Borger.

Dobkins was preceded in death by his son, Ralph Dobkins who died in 1969 and his wife Mable who died in 1979.

He came to Borger in 1932 from Marysville, Ks. He attended Kansas State University and worked for Hutchinson Drilling Company from 1932-1957, owned G & G Fishing Tool Service from 1957-59. He was a drilling superintendent for A.E. Herman Corporation until 1970.

He and his wife Mable owned and operated The Snack Shack for 1970-72. Until 1984. he was a production engineer for Kaari Oil Company.

Survivors include one daughter, Shari Langen of Dalhart; four sisters, Nora Haddock of Talent, Ore., Hazel Cooper of Hastings, Ne., Helen Gray of Hemet, Calif., Eleanor Wilson of Long Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Ralph Dobkins, 1013 Jackson, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains.
