MARYSVILLE - Roland von Riesen, 76, Marysville, died Friday in a hospital here. He had been ill several months.

He was born April 23, 1895 at Halstead in Harvey County and spent most of his life at Marysville. He was graduated from Marysville High School in 1913.

He was a clerk for Union Pacific Railroad before he retired. He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Marysville where he served on the Official Board and held other offices. He also was a member of the Union Pacific Old Timers Club.

He was married to Chloe Walters June 20, 1917. She survives.

Other survivors include 2 sons, David von Riesen, Manhattan, and Lyle von Riesen, Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Mrs. Joan Sorrick, Washington, Kan.; 2 brothers, Ralph von Riesen, McCook, Neb., and Emil von Riesen, Topeka; a sister Gertrude von Riesen, Cincinnati, Ohio; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at the United Methodist Church at Marysville with burial in Marysville Cemetery. Kinsley Mortuary at Marysville is in charge of arrangements.
