Mrs. Maude Virginia Higgins, 78, of 217 Community Street, Harrisonburg died Friday morning while visiting her daughter, Mrs. Everette Coleman, at Strasburg.

Mrs. Higgins was born at Middletown Sept. 25, 1886 and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Edmondson.
In 1901 she married Harry Oliver Higgins, who died in May, 1938.

Mrs. Higgins had lived in Harrisonburg for 64 years and was formerly employed at Sis' Lunch and City Lunch.

She is survived by seven children, James (Corky) Franklin Higgins of Richmond, Mrs. Everette (Thelma)Coleman of Strasburg, Mrs. Catherine (Bobbie) Wanger, Mrs. Harriet Edwards and Mrs. George (Onie) Boyers, all of Harrisonburg, Melvin E. (Mike) Higgins of Staunton and William (Pat) Higgins of Rt. 6, Harrisonburg; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Daisy Pope of Middletown.

The funeral will be conducted 4 p.m. Sunday at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home Chapel by Elder William Eugene Larson. Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery.

The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today.

Relatives, friends, and pallbearers will meet at the funeral home at 3:45 p.m. Sunday.

Pallbearers, who are grandsons, will be William P. (Ted) and Melvin E. (Mickey) Higgins, Jr., Richard L. Boyers, Fred L. Shifflett, Jr., William F. (Billy) Edwards and DeRay Eavers.
