Casper Ackerman, wife, and 6 children came to the USA in 1835 from Schotz, Switzerland. They stopped in Ohio to work and earn money. Casper Ackerman was killed in a canal cave-in on which he was working. Records indicate he was buried in New Philidelphia, Ohio. Cemetery unknown. Casper Ackerman was Roman Catholic. Expect he was buried in a cemetery of the Catholic church in the area if there was one in 1835/36. The surviving family members moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1835. Wife's name was Rosa Ackerman
