Lisa Marie Howell, 43, of 15 Park St., Jamestown, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Monday (February 15, 2010) at her parents' home in Lakewood surrounded by friends and family after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born November 23, 1966, in Jamestown, the daughter of George and Betty Barton Howell.
Lisa was a 1984 graduate of Southwestern Central School and was selected to Who's Who in America.
She had been employed at Jamestown Boiler until ill health forced her retirement. Earlier she worked at Fairbank Farms, Better Baked Foods in North East, Pa., and Cliffstar Corp. in Dunkirk.
Lisa was a member of the NY, PA and OH PONY Association and 4H, where she and her horse Sparky competed in many events. An avid BMX racer, she raced in Pennsylvania and Ohio and at Charlies BMX track in Ellery. Lisa was always willing to help anyone at any time. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, and loved attending her two daughters' various sports and school activities.
Surviving besides her parents of Lakewood are two daughters: Megan Howell and Heather Reiman; a brother, John Howell; and a niece, Amanda Howell, all of Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ruth and Cleland Barton; and Frank and Gretchen Howell.
