The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Rev. Terry Coats. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park with military rites by District 11 Memorial Honor Guard.
Mr. Rumley was born in Davidson County on Jan. 7, 1927, to Robert Jerome Rumley and Sallie Carmichael Rumley.
He was retired from Alma Desk Co. and served his country in World War II in the Army. He also was a member of Spruce Street Baptist Church.
Mr. Rumley was preceded in death by three brothers, Reeves Rumley, Luke Rumley and Ralph Rumley; and four sisters, Edna Dotey, Inez Gordon, Bernice Keefer and Patty Carolyn Cameron.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home and other times at the home.
