Phillip Scott "Cannonball" Arnett

Phillip Scott "Cannonball" Arnett, 64, Columbia City, died at 12:31 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1986, at the Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born Feb. 11, 1922, in Sullivan County to John Tom and Madge Douthitt Arnett. He was a retired truck driver for G.E. Lease Corp. He was a member of Eagles Lodge and 414 Teamster Union.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Malone Arnett; one daughter, Sharon Albert, Indianapolis, three stepdaughters, Bernadine Gutierrez and Clarice Baeske, both of Fort Wayne, and Phyllis Saylor, Decatur; two stepsons, Eugene Malone and Keith Malone, both of Fort Wayne; his father, Fort Wayne; four brothers, Joe Bob Arnett and Merle "Speed" Arnett, both of Sullivan County, Lloyd Arnett, California, and Lester Arnett, address unknown; one sister, Ann Clemmons, Ga.; and 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Friday at the Hollingsworth Memorial Chapel, Columbia City. Church rites will be in Sullivan County at the Indian Prairie Baptist Church Sunday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Jones officiating.
