Daughter of John Elliot Douthitt and Doll (Shepherd) Douthitt.

Married to John Thomas Arnett on December 18, 1919. Mother of Wayne G., Phillip Scott, Merle E., Joe Bob, Stanley E., Lois M., Lester Thomas, Margaret Ann and Lloyd L. Arnett.

OBITUARY:

Mrs. Madge Arnett Dies At Hospital

Mrs. Madge Arnett, 62, of Sullivan R. 1, passed away at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday at the Mary Sherman Hospital.

She was born in Sullivan County on Oct. 4, 1898, the daughter of Elliott and Doll Shepherd Douthitt.

Surviving are the husband, Tom; six sons, Wayne of New Lebanon, Scott and Joe Bob , both of Fort Wayne, Merle and Lester, both of Sullivan R. 1, and Lloyd of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Hash of Sandborn and Mrs. Ruth Quick, Carlisle, R. 2 and R. 1, and eight grandchildren.

She was a member of the Indian Prairie Baptist Church.

The body was taken to the Newkirk Funeral Home where friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday and where funeral services will be held Saturday 1 p.m.

Burial will be at Indian Prairie Cemetery.* (see note below)

Daughters Omitted From Survivors

The names of two surviving daughters of Mrs. Madge Arnett, 62, of Sullivan R. 1, who died Wednesday, were omitted from the list of survivors in Thursday's Times.

The daughters are Mrs. Margaret Clemons of Baumholder, Germany, and Mrs. Lois Lumper of Frankfort.

Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Newkirk Funeral Home with burial at Indian Prairie.* (see note below) Friends may call anytime.

*NOTE: Madge Opal Douthitt Arnett is buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery, not Indian Prairie Baptist Cemetery.
