The Wellington Leader August 10, 1972

Dan Langley, 70, died at 6:55 p.m. Thursday, August 3, in Childress General Hospital, after being in ill health about 5 years. He was admitted to an Amarillo hospital June 19, and remained under treatment there until two days prior to his death. He moved to Wellington with his family in 1942, when he retired after 20 years with Tidewater Oil Company, working throughout West Texas. Most of the time was at Grand Falls. He later worked for Ft. Worth Pipe and Supply in Ft. Worth, then returned here. For several years he was associated with the Farmers Co-op Gin. Born October 13,1901, in Cornish, Oklahoma, he was the son of J.E. and Sally Sanders Langley. He was married to Miss Joyce Kile November 13, 1921, at Dothan. Mr. Langle was a Master Mason and a member of the Odd Fellows. For many years he was active in the community life of a number of West Texas towns.

Survivors are his wife; one son, Jimmy Dan Langley of Tampa, Florida; three daughters, Mrs. Walter L. Williams of Gainesville, Florida; Mrs. A.K. Anderson of Rawlins, Wyoming; and Mrs. Sally Gray; 6 sisters, Mrs. George Lowe of Marietta, Oklahoma, Mrs. Leslie Nixon of Floydada, Mrs. John Barnhart of Garland, Mrs. Nannie Johnson, Mrs. Ethel Hester and Mrs. Aubrey Stuckey; three brothers: Jim Langley, George Langley of Seattle, Washington, and Bill Langley of Kirby, Kansas. There are 9 grandchildren.
