Irene Crow, 96, of Itasca passed away Tuesday, October, 1, 2013 in Itasca. Irene was born March 30, 1917 in the Culp Community of Hill County to William Coke and Vida (Beck) Brush. She lived in Hill County most of her life. On September 22, 1934, she married Tom Crow and he preceded her in death on January 14, 1967.
In the mid 1950's, she received her LVN license and was very proud of being a nurse. For a time, she worked at a Hillsboro hospital before going to work at the Itasca Nursing Home for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Itasca.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Dorothy Margaret Farquhar; eight brothers and sisters; and a grandson, Robert Eugene Farquhar.
Survivors include her children, Wanda Fay Mitchell and Robert M. Crow; brother, Don Brush; sister, Betty Wilkerson; five grand children; many great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Itasca Cemetery in Itasca. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
