Doris Jean Stroupe, 76, of Stanley, died on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Page Memorial Hospital.
She was born on Aug. 20, 1935, in Stanley and was a daughter of the late George A. Foltz and Reda Mae Knight Foltz.
Mrs. Stroupe was a lifetime member of the Stanley Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
On Feb. 2, 1952, she married Tommy Wayne Stroupe, who died on Dec. 4, 1995.
She is survived by two daughters, Dixie Darlene Blosser of Stanley, and Tammy Waters of Luray; her companion, Donald Richards of Stanley; and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Kern; and one granddaughter.
A funeral service was conducted on Saturday, April 7, at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Pastor Frank Painter.
Burial was in the Leaksville Cemetery.
