Wilmer, the 14 year old son of Mr. Stroupe was in the act of putting away a shotgun, which he had been using, when the weapon by some means was discharged, the load entering his mother's head, producing instant death.
The awful tragedy was a stunning blow to the family, consisting of Father and nine children, who have the sympathy of many friends in their unusual distress.
Mrs. Stroupe was buried at Leaksville on Thursday evening. Her funeral was conducted by the Rev. B.B. White, the occasion bringing together many friends and relatives of the stricken family. Mrs. Stroupe was about 46 years old.
