I suggest two edits to my great-great grandfather Joseph Gochenour's entry:
- I recommend this entry for place of birth: Shenandoah (now Page) Co., VA.
The birthplace as previously stated implies he was born in town of Shenandoah in Page County. However, neither the town of Shenandoah nor Page County existed in 1823. The Gochenour home place is in the Leakesville community which was in Shenandoah County until 1831.
- The information on his tombstone states he died on Aug 14 1887 aged 63 yrs 10 mos and 14 days, which give a birth date of 30 September 1823. Had he been born on 1 October he would have been only 63 yrs 10 mos and 13 days at death. You may have gotten the 1 October date
