Special Policeman John Bousman, Chicago & Northwestern Railroad Police, was struck and killed by a train while patrolling the Railroad's bridge across the Mississippi River between Clinton, Iowa, and Illinois.
A passing train crew located his body on the Iowa side of the bridge.
Policeman Bousman was survived by his wife, Kate, and several children.
He is listed on the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D. C. and the Officer Down Memorial Page (ODMP) on the Web.
