Charles F. Kieffer

Mr. Kieffer died Sunday at his home following an illness of six weeks. He was a native of Clark County and had spent the greater part of his life here, with the exception of a number of years he lived in Illinois. He was identified with the Grace M.E. Church of this city.

For many years Mr. Kieffer had taken a prominent part in the local Trades and Labor Assembly, having at various times served as treasurer of the organization. He was one of the founders of the Labor Temple Co., and at the time of his death was one of the directors. He had been affiliated with the Carpenters' Union for many years.

Surviving Mr. Kieffer are his widow, Mrs. Florence Kieffer; two sons, Arthur L. Kieffer of Springfield, and Vernon R. Kieffer of Dayton; three daughters, Mrs. Bertha Dase of Canton, OH; Mrs. Della Shay and Mrs. Alma Wellman, both of this city; two step-sons; Omer and Virgil McDaniel, both of Kensington, Ind.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Maude Wall of Indianapolis, Ind., and Mrs. Esco Harrod of Dayton; three brothers – William and Elmer Kieffer of Springfield, and Dayton Kieffer of Robinson, Ill.; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Burial will be made in Ferncliff cemetery.
