William Henry Snell was a pioneer of the state of Illinois, locating there in 1840. In 1842 located to section 19 of Flat Branch Township where he improved one hundred and sixty acres of land. He was an active member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
He married three time and had at least 18 children
