The craft, a Piper Malibu Meridian, crashed in a remote, swampy section of the Tiger Bay Wildlife Management Area.
The victims are believed to be 62-year-old Bill Meazell and 64-year-old Muriel Meazell.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, which is conducting a death investigation, has not determined which victim was flying the plane.
The victims lived in the Spruce Creek Fly-In community near Port Orange and also owned a permanent residence in Nacogdoches, Texas.
The plane was registered to Bill Meazell’s air ranch business in Texas.
