Mrs. Myrtice Johnson Passes On Thursday
Mrs. Myrtice Davis Johnson died suddenly at her home near Zebulon at 2:30 Thursday afternoon. She was taken suddenly ill Thursday morning but was in good health prior to then. Born and reared in Pike County she was well known by a wide host of friends. The sudden death of the beloved woman came as a severe shock to all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Johnson was the wife of Mr. Wilbur H. Johnson, tax receiver of Pike county. She was the daughter of Mrs. Etta Ogletree Davis and the later Mr. Johnnie Davis. She was a member of the Mt. Gilead church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o'clock Saturday morning from her home near Zebulon. Rev. John Rawls, pastor of Mt. Gilead, will officiate. Interment will be in the family cemetery near her home with Haisten Brothers, funeral directors, charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband and her mother, two sons, Homer Johnson and Phil Johnson, of Zebulon; four daughters, Mrs. Carey Jones, of Griffin, Mrs. Bob Jones, of Augusta, Kansas, Miss Loette Johnson and Miss Margie Johnson, of Zebulon; five brothers, Frank Davis, of Griffin, Phil Davis, of Zebulon, Howard Davis, of Griffin, Capt. Paul Davis, U.S.Air Corps, Washington, D.C., Junious Davis, Atlanta; and five sisters, Mrs. Willie Ballard, of Zebulon, Mrs. Zin Ballard, Mrs. Otis Carter, Zebulon, Mrs. Bill Reeves, Locust Grove, and Mrs. H. Reeves, of Hollywood, California. Mrs. Johnson was well known and respected throughout Pike and Spalding counties. She was a member of one of the most prominent families in Pike county and had endeared herself to many close friends.
