Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Loraine Decker Adams, passed away on September 8, 2009 in Parowan, Utah. He was born May 19, 1921 in Parowan to Ancel James and Elizabeth Gertrude Decker Adams.

Loraine was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and had a deep, personal testimony of our Savior and of his faith in the Lord He spent countless hours cleaning local LDS Churches and serving all in need.

Loraine had a genuine love of nature, the outdoors and loved the American West . He enjoyed gardening and farm animals, hunting and fishing and working on his cars. He was particularly proud of the houses he built and his prized 18-foot cabin boat. He had a tender spot for horses and also honoring and respecting the body and lives of those that passed before him, helping to dig many graves with the local morticians.

Our family is forever changed for the better for dad's presence in our lives. In his honor, we will do our best to carry-on in the "can-do" spirit Dad always embraced.

We are certain a joyous reunion is taking place as Loraine is reunited and preceded in death by his wife, Karmah, his parents, brothers Bryce and Bernarr and his sister Maureen.

Loraine is survived by children Ellen (J.C. - deceased) of Caliente, Nevada, Dee (Tootsie - deceased) Adams of Goldfield, Nevada, Erlene (Dennis) Orton of Enoch, Utah, Carol (Kenneth) Black of Wellington, Utah, Jean Vaughn of Caliente, Nevada and Charlotte (Eddie) Hatch of Enoch, Utah. Also his thirteen grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchild. Also his brothers Hardy, Spencer and Lloyd Adams and sisters Vilo, Trudy and Sharon.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 12 noon at the Parowan City Cemetery in Parowan, Utah. Internment will be in the Parowan City Cemetery, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
