Services for John A. Stubbs, 72, a resident of Palatine for 48 years, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.
Mr. Stubbs, who was born Oct. 12, 1924, in Miami, Fla., died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, at Lexington Health Care Center, Schaumburg. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Palatine.
A World War II Navy veteran, Mr. Stubbs worked as a bricklayer before retiring.
Survivors include his wife, Mary C. Stubbs of Palatine; his son, Anthony J. Mastroianni (Denise Moree) of Barrington; his daughters, Bernadette Harvey of Schaumburg, Paulette Koch of Bloomingdale and Jacqueline (Bruce) Hoppe of Crystal Lake; his seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his brother, Al (Donna) Stubbs of Homestead, Fla.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to The American Cancer Society, 625 N. Court, Palatine, IL 60067.
