Henry T. Finch, Jr. was born on May 23, 1925 in Dallas, Texas, and he entered Heaven's gate on February 11, 2010 from his home in Denton, Texas.

He was one of five children born to the late Henry T. Finch, Sr. and Myrtle Helms Finch. On January 14, 1950, he married Ruby Schertz Finch at Blue Mound United Methodist Church. He was her life partner, soul mate, and beloved husband for over 60 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sanger, Texas. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge for 61 years and Order of the Sanger Eastern Star.

Like many of his era that grew up during the depression; he learned the value of hard work and determination. In 1985, he retired from Helms Printing in Dallas, a family owned business. After retirement, he and Ruby moved to Denton and he constructed their home. He believed in performing at your very best and taking pride in your workmanship.

He loved to read and was a master of many skills which led him to scores of hobbies. He was a ham radio operator "W5NEK"; an amateur photographer, a chocolate connoisseur, self-taught electrician and avid collector of coins and historical artifacts. H.T. loved listening to his dearly- loved wife play hymns on the organ and piano. H.T. touched the lives of so many people with his gentle spirit, his ability to do things right, and determination of which he maintained until the very end of his earthly journey.

H.T. will forever be remembered by his devoted wife, Ruby, his brother, Homer and sister-in-law, Barbara Finch of Houston, sister-in law, Francis Finch of California, special cousin Carolyn Smith of Austin, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were very blessed to know him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Henry T. Finch, Sr., mother Myrtle Helms Finch and brothers Robert Kenneth Finch, William Lawrence Finch, and Ramon Edwin Finch.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday February 14, 2010 at 2 pm at First Baptist Church in Sanger, Texas with Dr. E.L. McNeal officiating. A Masonic graveside service will follow at Blue Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday February 13, 2010 from 5 – 7 pm at Mulkey-Mason, Jack Shcmitz and Son Funeral Home in Denton, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Michael Schertz and Ryan Pieniazek of Denton, Matt Schertz of Washington, D.C, Jeff Schertz of Sanger, Kris Schertz of Allen and Jonathan Mallard of Sanger.Honorary Pallbearer will be Danny Schertz of Denton.

Memorials may be made in his honor to Scottish Rite Children's Hospital or First Baptist Church in Sanger, Texas. Online condolences may be made at www.mulkeymason.com
