Robert Raymond Christensen was born in Boone, Boone County, Iowa in 1898. He was the first of 11 children born to Peter Christensen and Lillian Mae Kugler. Some records show his birth location as Woodward, Dallas, Iowa

His father Peter Christensen was born in Denmark in 1870, immigrated in 1892 to the USA and later married Lilly M. Kugler of Woodward, Iowa, daughter of Joseph Kugler and Letitia Mitten. The Peter Christensen family first lived in Boone and then Hardin, Greene County Iowa, then Pulaski, Fault County, South Dakota, then Jud, Lamour, North Dakota, then Syracuse, Ononaga, New York. Peter Christensen was a large acreage wheat farmer.

He moved with his parents family to Pulaski, South Dakota as early as 1910 and lived on a farm growing up there.

Later he moved to Jud, Lamour, North Dakota, and at age 20 married Velma Davis, daughter of John and Anna Neel Davis, on Sep 5, 1918 in Jud.

He also register for the draft in 1918 because of WWI which ended on Nov 11, 1918

Robert and Velma's first child Dolores M. was born in Jud, North Dakota in 1919.

Then they moved to Clay Town, Onondaga, New York In 1920

Their next child Gordon John was born in 1921 in Boylston Center Oswego County New York, USA.

They moved in 1924 to Euclid Hamlet, Clay Town, Onondaga County, New York where their next three children were born.

In May 1937 they moved to Casper Wyoming where Robert worked for Sharrock-Purcell Corp. as a Welder and lated for other Companys.
There last son Richard Roland was born in Casper in 1939.

They lived in Casper through 1943 when they moved to Seaside, Oregon. and Silverdale, Washington in 1944.

Three sons, Gordon, Beryl, and Neel entered the Military during WWII. Beryl lost his life in Leyte, Phillipines in 1944.

The family then moved to Sandy, Utah in March 1945.

Their last move was just a few miles in Jan 1954 to Midvale, Utah

Robert worked as a fireman and then an engineer for Easy Washing Machine in Syracuse and later as a Journeyman Welder. In 1938-1941 Robert worked for Frisby Welding Works in Casper, Wyo. When they moved to Seaside Oregon in about 1942, Robert worked as a general mechanic and welder at the blimp factory and yard in Tillamook, Washington. He worked on many major Construction projects in Mining, Milling, Bridge, Dam and Road Building throughout the Western USA. In Utah he worked for Peter Kiewit, Utah Construction Co. and Kennecott Copper.

Velma died in July 1954 in Salt Lake

Robert married Lena Fenstermaker Jackson in 1955. They were vacationing in Red Lodge Montana when he died from a heart attack.

He was a energetic, serious, yet jovial man. He maintained a small farm and kept farm animals and a great garden . He had an ardent love of family and of family unity. He manifested great values and his life was exemplary of that.
