He married Pearl Ellis July 23, 1921, and she preceded him in death on May 20, 1975.

He is survived by a son, James of Rockford, two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Delores) Alridge of Rockford and Mrs. Gorden (Miriam) Brown of Loves Park, a brother, Larry of Rockford, two sisters, Mrs. Cleora Blank of Bridgeport, IL and Mrs. Florence Davis of Olney and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
