Bernard Gantenbein, 69, 1027 W./Butler, Olney, died Monday afternoon in Richland Memorial Hospital.

Visitation and services will be in the Zirkle Funeral Home with James F. Rue presiding. Burial will be in Maple Dale Cemetery.

Mr. Gantenbein was born Feb. 17, 1914, in Richland County, the son of Charles and Bessie (Varner) Gantenbein.

He married his wife Catherine May 17, 1943, in Olney, and she survives.

He was a laborer for oil production.

Other survivors include two sons, Bernard, Jr., Carbondale; and Robert, Olney; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Cathy) King, US Naval Base, Millington, Tenn.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Edith Thompson, Calumet; and Lillian Gantenbein, Anna; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
