Military services were held at Fort Bliss with graveside services at Lake Creek cemetery.
John Bethel Lasater, Jr graduated from Olney High School in 1937. He entered the US Army in 1941 and served in the South Pacific for 42 months during World War II. He served in Germany from 1952-1955.
Survived by his wife; two daughters - Mrs. Bud Bailey and Sue Lasater; his parents; two sons by a previous marriage - Bailey Lasater and Pat Lasatre; two sisters - Amy Lasater and Mrs. R.D. Green, Jr; one brother - Ben Lasater; one granddaughter.
John Bethel Lasater, Jr served as a photographer in the US Air Force during World War II. While stationed in Washington, DC, he met and married Miss Nita Snyder. Following his time in the Armed Forces, Ben and Nita returned to Olney to begin what has become a life-long commitment to the business community in Olney. Throughout the years, the history of Olney and the individual families which have lived in Olney have a record of that history which bears the Lasater Studio trademark.
